Kerry Washington's ability to protect her privacy and that of her family is nearly unmatched. The Scandal star gave birth to a baby boy nearly two weeks ago, and the public is just now finding out.

E! reports that Washington welcomed baby Caleb Kelechi Asomugha on October 5.

This is Washington's second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha. Their daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha was born April 21, 2014.

The couple wed in 2013, but are rarely seen together publicly. And no photos of baby Isabelle have emerged.

Kerry has a right to save her home life to herself, and she's done a masterful job of keeping what she holds close out of the spotlight.

The Bronx-native has been filming Scandal throughout her pregnancy.

She opened up last year about the joys of motherhood but has always kept her discussions of the topic pretty cryptic. She told Entertainment Tonight, "The thing that has changed the most about me since I became a mom is that my heart keeps getting bigger and bigger."
