Allyson Felix Shatters Record by Winning Sixth Olympic Gold Medal

Allyson Felix is the only female track and field athlete in U.S. history to win six Olympic gold medals.

With six gold medals, Felix has more golds than any U.S. women's athlete except swimmer Jenny Thompson.

The Los Angeles-native won gold in the women's 4x400-meter relay along with her teammates Natasha Hastings, Courtney Okolo and Phyllis Francis.

The U.S. women won the relay in 3:19.06. Jamaica took and Great Britain won bronze with a time of 3:25.88. The Olympic gold medal was the U.S.’s sixth straight in the event.

Felix is a nine-time gold medalist at the world champion who is coached by Bob Kersee. 30-year-old Felix hasn't disclosed if she'll be at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
