Beyoncé Invites Mothers of Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, and Eric Garner to VMAs Red Carpet
Beyoncé brought the complete spirit of Lemonade to the MTV Video Music Awards. The takeover began on the red carpet where the superstar brought her 4-year-old daughter, Blue, as her date. But Blue wasn't the only special guest.
Gwen Carr, Sybrina Fulton, and Lezley McSpadden, the mothers of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and Mike Brown, joined her in gowns. The women appear in the visual album.
Many other young women from the video came together for the red carpet moment including Oscar-nominee Quvuenzhane Wallis, model Winnie Harlow, Chloe and Halle, and Ingrid.
At the show, Beyoncé performed a stunning 15-minute medley of songs from her latest album and won four awards, making her the most awarded artist in the show's history.
